This Tipp side are quite a hefty prospect
Here’s why
Quality Players, Quality players everywhere!!
Powerful Full forward line.
Barry Grogan
He effectively ended Eamonn McEneany’s tenure as Louth Manager scoring 1-5 in a qualifier defeat 2009.
Conor Sweeney
Their best forward and classy operator….Pop will more than likely be on him
Michael Quinlivan
The posterboy of the successful Tipp minor teams…will give Paddy Reilly another tricky afternoon.
He was taken off last week injured so he may not be fit for our game. Hopefully
One to Watch
Colin O’Riordan
This 19 year old came to prominence in Tipp’s qualifer loss to Galway last summer, he was right half back that day and he’s now playing in the middle of the field.
His greatest asset is his power and mobility, no doubt about it O’Riordan certainly has a massive future ahead of him. Will be nice to see an up and coming talented player up close. Good test for whoever we play in the middle too.
Form So far?
They’ve been picked off by the top 2 Armagh and Fermanagh away from home, very controversially against Armagh too I might add. Otherwise they hammered Limerick by 12 points and beat Clare by 6 points last weekend.
They’ll be the best team we’ll have played so far….there will be a difference in class from anything we’ve faced at home so far this year.
However they are quite open in the way they play. Fifteen against Fifteen relying on their talent up front to see them through. That gives us an opportunity to get men behind the ball, stifle their attack and hit them on the counter much like Armagh and Fermanagh did successfully.
