from Yesterdays game
NOW READY!
The heading of this post really should be changed to what we learned yesterday as the main talking point is pretty obvious, the Result and shock performance.
It’s very easy to be negative after such a drubbing but away wins are hard to come by in this division and we knew that coming into it. There has been only 3 in total in Division 3 this year! table toppers Armagh (2) and Fermanagh (1).
So I’d take the result with a pinch of salt because getting a victory in Markievicz Park was always going to be difficult.
However, Colin Kelly and the lads will be very dismayed at the performance. The Margin was even more shocking than anything.
So what will he have learned?
Defence, what defence
In a weekend, that saw Tyrone systematically stifle Dublin it showed how the game is changing and if you don’t set up with a rigid defence nowadays you are going to pay. Conceding 2-26 screams naivety on our part. The full forward line notching up 1-15 between them confirmed it. Colin Kelly will have to adapt going forward.
Home Form
Our Home form will have to Carry us through…
Wexford won the weekend beating Limerick it means no team is pointless and we now only have a cushion of 2 points between us and Sligo and Wexford.
#FortressDrogheda actually could be a key to our survival.
The Blues
Shout out to Newtown Blues man Johnny Connolly, the 19 year old scored his first point on his league debut. A silver lining amidst the Sligo cloud and Proud moment for the lad.
