NFL build up: Scouting Report: Wexford

Nice and short scouting report this time around

because,

to be honest Wexford have a whole new side.

A massive turnover of players from the last time they faced us and beat us in Drogheda in 2013 in the championship.

They’ll only have 6 starters from that day available and on top of that their two best players are not available for various reasons…

Midfielder Daithi Waters has opted to play hurling this year while Ciaran Lyng is suspended after a red card versus Clare.

WHO to look out for
Such is the importance of kickouts and possesion in the modern game see’s Shane Roche now in goals, He is arguably their best forward available!

He did score 1-5 against in the league in 2013!

He’ll look to pick out rangey midfielders Paddy Byrne (top) and Colm Kehoe (bottom)

Both Byrne and Kehoe are more suited to the half forward line but Wexford have had to make do and their mobility around the middle will need attention as they like to get up and join the attack too.

Up Front
Adrian Flynn has resumed his career as a forward having become a very devastating attacking wingback in recent seasons.

He’ll be a trickey customer for Dessie at centre very powerful player in the wide open spaces.

Paddy Reilly’s UCD teammate Eoghan Nolan is one to look out for While Pop Rath will have the task of picking up Ben Brosnan. Deadly freetaker and Pop will look to limit him from play!
