Leinster Intermediate semi final Scouting Report: Eadestown.
Leinster Intermediate Club semi final folks!
Sunday, 2pm Clans
here’s my scouting report
Location:Eadestown County Kildare
Colours: Sky Blue and Navy
Manager: Former Laois Player and Moorefield manager Dessie Brennan
This Kildare outfit were shock winners in Kildare beating Round Towers 1-10 to 11 in the final. They have a game under their belt in beating Kilkenny Champs Railyard 2-15 to 2 points!
Their Star man without a doubt is Emmet Bolton
The Kildare Stalwart is their leader and quite similar to the role JOBser plays for the Sean O’Mahony’s.
In fact the two of them could end up picking each other up and cancel each other out that could suit the O’Mahony’s more as Bolton’s influence going forward from half back along with wing backs Eoin Woods and Eddie Conroy is a major part of the way Eadestown play.
Emmet’s brother His brother Cian is another Star player he operates at 12 and got man of the match in the Kildare final.
Louth fans might know him as he played for the Kildare juniors that defeated Louth this year and 2012.
A powerful player He carries much of the scoring burden However SOM will also have to look out for Conor McCarthy and Robbie Smith also.
Midfielder Barry Lawler will also have to be well marshalled. He also played for the Kildare juniors this season in Dowdallshill.
He could be enough to take Conor Crawley away from the edge of the square.
That could be trouble for the O’Mahonys but hopefully Shane Brennan and Peter Nixon can curb his influence.
Verdict: This is the big one for the O’Mahony’s, one win away from reaching a provincial final.
They are on a massive roll of momentum and face a Kildare side who are effectively coming in from the cold on home soil.
It won’t be easy Kildare sides have a good record at this level and The Bolton Brothers will take some stopping.
But I think they can do it and I really hope they do.
Sure they’re a grand aul team to play for.
