Westmeath have named their team
Here’s my scouting report on them
Key Men
Paul Sharry and John Heslin were highlighted on here before when we faced them this time last year.
A year on and things have not changed, they are still Westmeath’s most talented players.
Heslin has top scored for them in the league and a real focal point for them at full forward and a devastating free taker(hecklers take note).
Sharry although hampered with injuries this year is a major threat on the wing for them.
both will need to be watched very closely.
In the year since we’ve last played them Ger Egan, Kevin Maguire and Callum McCormack have grown into leaders of the side.
Putting these under the pressure will go along way in breaking their moral and giving us victory.
James Dolan comes back in from injury after missing the whole league he’s a flying machine at wing back he’ll look to launch majority of their attacks.
Potential Switches
We’ll need to be aware of these switches through the game
-Sharry and Martin straight swap both comfortable in either position.
-Egan and Connellan straight swap again Egan has played most of his football on the forty.
-Heslin may drift out the middle if he feels like it.
-Also Stapleton and Connellan could drift out to the middle too leaving their forwards with tons of space.
-Connellan has also played full forward for Westmeath in the league this year too.
4 debutants are….
First Impressions
On Paper they look like a powerful side a lot of big men in every line.
To me it looks like an unsettled side, numerous players playing in unfamiliar positions.
Lots of talent to be concerned about yes, but the way they line out looks clustered all over the place.
Can Louth beat this team, yes.
