We all know semi finals are only there for winning….
who is going to be the win them?
check out the previews and key Match ups here.
Red and green mix up gets us under way in the nerve ridden semi finals as Glen Emmetts face the Seans.
The Seans have been very erratic this season trouncing the Kevins, beating Stabannon, losing respectfully to the Plunketts and drawing with Dowdallshill.
So as much as I think the 2012 junior champions Tullyallen will reach the final again. The Seans have the potential if they sort themselves out will not make it easy for them.
Key Match UP
Clash of the titans at the edge of the square as Ciaran McMahon faces up to Conor Grimes. We could need a boxing referee to score the round between them.
Verdict:
Glen Emmetts.
They’ve been quietly impressive this season as the other two semi finalists have gladfully taken the limelight.
In saying that, the two best sides in the Junior championship face each other in the semi. Plunketts and Finbarrs.
12 months on from losing to Togher at the semi final stage, the Plunketts are exactly where they want to be.
The Mell side have picked up a few injuries and that could be problematic midfielder Robert Brodigan being the main one.
Key Match UP
William Woods/Davy McEntaggert
Woods scoring power is crucial for the Barrs he gives them a wee edge over the Plunketts.
So don’t be surprised if he is double marked by McEntaggert and someone else.
It would be foolish by the Plunketts if they don’t.
Verdict:
I tipped the Plunketts from the start and I’ll stick with them even though everything is pointing against them at the moment injuries, poor league form albeit in Division 2 and lack of scoring forwards. They’ll be too determined as agroup not miss out on another junior final.
