Saturday

Double header in Haggardstown on Saturday night has all the ingredients for some entertaining football!

Yes, entertaining football…no sweepers…no mass defending…no sideways passing.

Some really good young forwards full of enthusiasm and plenty at stake too.

Preview 1

Hunterstown have found themselves in the semi final with the minimum of fuss.
They had no Burnsey for the whole group stage and they coped and then when he came back, they were a lot better for it.

It is now or never for the Clans, they need to get out of intermediate football as soon as they can especially with their current crop of youth.
Conall McKeever , Mark Newell, Conall Cooney Stephen Coleman and Robbie Curran don’t want to spending their formative football years there so that will drive them on.

However this game comes back to Burnsey, He gives Hunterstown players around him great belief and that is hard and will be too hard for the Clans to stop.

Preview 2

We’ve all learned after the Dublin Mayo game that replays are won by teams who has learnt the most from the previous day.

So, who has learnt the most? who has their homework done?
and
most importantly who has more capacity to improve?

To me that team is the Dundalk side…
The O’Raghallaighs squad is quite limited and it is majority of the reason they got to the quarters in fact but ironically, I think it will ultimately let them down.
O’Mahonys looked to the bench the last day and it got them out of trouble that will be key to their chances of victory. Learning from what got them in trouble in the first place.
The Raths have some players in incredible form so they will be right there.

Predictions

HTown and SOM

Results

Clans and HTown have to do it all over again 1-7 a piece.
SOM did learn lessons from the last day beating the Raths 3-10 to 2-8.

Sunday

Dowdallshill sees two games Sunday night while Pats are out earlier in the day.
semi

Preview 3

Senior Championship Semi Final. This is going to be the game.
The Champs are finding their groove with every game and The Marys are strengthening their case as the competition advances also.
This will not be a game for the faint hearted, it is going to be full bodied and bloody.
I think the Marys are the only team left in the competition to deal with the Pats size and strength.
The way they set up will help them too, will it be enough to rattle the Lordship men? yes but enough to put them out?
It might.

Prediction

Ardee Draw

Preview 4

Relegated last season from senior and in the intermeidate semi with little or no fuss …Kilkerley are making the transition look easy.
They have Shane Lennon and Shaun Hand with minor Tadhg McEneaney in the forward line but it’s their defence that will need to get them through this one.
Joes forwards and the Joes in general have the ability to be frighteningly good when they want.
So I can see them giving it a right go but all those years of senior football will stand to Kilkerely in the end.

Prediction

Kilkerely Emmets

mitchellsreplay

Preview 5

The stand alone junior championship game of the weekend.
Mitchells will feel they should have won the last day but Stabannon showed doggedness to get the draw.
They played each other in the last round of the league and Stabannon beat them by 7!
It has to be Stabannon doesn’t it?

Prediction

Stabannon

There you have it Hunterstown Rovers, SOM, Draw in the senior semi, Kilkerley and Stabannon…whats your picks??

Results

Pats come out on top of a bruiser 12-7 is there any stopping them?

Kilkerley Emmets are in the intermediate final! 2-15 to 10 winners over the Joes

Stabannon took care of business.just winning 1-11 to 1-10 over the Mitchells
